The Pride Of Essex Awards 2014
Three originals get together to mark the launch of the 2014 Pride of Essex awards.
Founder of the original awards Susie Cornell MBE was joined by Chelmsford’s most original Town- Crier Tony Appleton, and racing’s original ‘Stig’ from television’s ‘Top Gear’ at Anglia Ruskin University, home of the presentations of the Pride of Essex Awards.
Billericay Racing driver Perry McCarthy, removed the mystery of ‘Who is the Stig’ in 2010 when he revealed his identity in his book.
Together with some attractive young students he also helped in removing the mystery surrounding the 2014 awards as the Town Criers bell rang out to officially open the Award nominations.
The awards are now open to receive nominations which can be made either online www.prideofessexawards.org.uk or by post to

Nominations will close on October 31st, presentations will be held at The Anglia Ruskin University on November 25th
Each category will have four highly commended as well as and award winners, all will receive acknowledgements and rewards.
The Directa Ultimate Award and the Susie Cornell Award recognise and reward adults and children who have overcome adversity.
The Blue Strawberry Unsung Hero Award recognises and rewards exceptional care in the community.
The SL Caravans Community Champion Award recognises outstanding community achievement and fundraising.
